The problem is that the new MobileMe Calendar Beta converts everything to CalDAV, which means the calendars aren't in the "On My Mac" section any more.
There isn't any "clean" way to sync iCal and Google Calendar with the new MobileMe Calendar Beta -- the best you can do is set up CalDAV in iCal and bypass Spanning Sync altogether, although this is an ugly solution at best. CalDAV sync with Google Calendar works a bit better on the iPhone and iPad, and in fact is the exact same method presently used to access the MobileMe Calendar Beta from the iPad. Spanning Sync will likely need to update their software to handle the new calendar storage in iCal or figure out a way to sync directly with the MobileMe Calendar Beta via CalDAV.
