Hi there, Please bear with me, I'm trying to tell a complete story so as to get the best fix on the first try...
I've just installed spanning sync after trying to do 2 way syncing without 3rd party software (unsuccessfully!) I messed up my iCal in the process and tried restoring from Time Machine by restoring the ~library/calendars folder after deleting the gmail account from the iCal - preferences - accounts tab. This restored my previous calendars temporarily, then after a few minutes, the original calendar was replaced with the old screwed up calendar. I searched the internet and someone suggested deleting ~/library/preferences/ iCalExternalSync.plist. I did that, then restored my calendars, and this worked. Now I've installed spanning sync and it won't sync some of my wife's calendars iCal, but it will sync my calendars.
