thanks for the detailed instructions.  these are my first two
Automator workflows.

your solution works, but isn't quote perfect!  i would like your
applications to close if no errors are detected.  your workflow
requires me to deal with your two apps every morning.  it isn't a big
thing, but i would prefer to see your apps on the screen and know that
i have a problem.

i have a cron job that runs every hour and lets me know if my boot SSD
is close to full.  it only sends email if the disk is getting full.
