I'm having exactly the same problem here. And by the way, I think it is a serious issue that you require people to send a report that contains private data by email - this function should be included in spanning sync and the data should be encrypted. I hope you can resolve this soon, also without my report.
No other application accessing my google data has any issues, so I guess google servers are up and doing fine. best, Chris.
