Hi.

Is anyone using local audio on a Blade 100 with 4.6?

I'm trying, and find I've what I'll call over-amped output, even when
the volume is set (far) downwards. The distortion is quite bad even at
low volume levels.

I've tried a few 320k constant bit rate MP3's, and two variable bit rate
MP3's, whose bit rate do not exceed 64, TTBOMK.

I've tried this on two Blade 100's and found similar if not identical
results. I have of course set volume and seemingly obvious mixer
settings downward without joy. My next step is to try Solaris and see
if the sound hardware subsystems in the two systems are damaged in some
way.

The 'play' is from a local file, the goal is both local file and
streamed audio via TCP with output to local analog audio for handling
externally.

I've used mpg123 and mpg321 with input files generated by iTunes (Mac
(Intel)) and streamripper (Ubuntu (Linux (Intel)). I am not running X.

(Still working on my 'sili' solution to a storage problem, will
summarize back shortly if no new data is rx'd. Short version thus far
is "no". *sob*)

Thanks.
