Hi,

I have a Sun Oracle Netra T5220. The installation of OpenBSD 7.5 went
flawless, and the system is also running fine. However, I wasn't able
to boot from the built-in DVD drive, so I had to use a standalone DVD
drive over USB (plugged to two USB ports for more power) to install
the system. And that faulty built-in DVD drive bugs me.

The ILOM reports:

-> show /SYS/DVD type

  /SYS/DVD
    Properties:
      type = DVD

ILOM faultmgmt shell reports no faults.

Before OpenBoot starts, I can see a POST message:

WARNING: /pci@0/pci@0/pci@1/pci@0/pci@1/pci@0/usb@0,2: Disabling
active unresponsive USB device on port 1

The OpenBoot does not see a DVD disk:

{0} ok show-disks
a) /pci@0/pci@0/pci@2/scsi@0/disk
b) /iscsi-hba/disk

But OpenBoot has an alias:

ok devalias

cdrom /pci@0/pci@0/pci@1/pci@0/pci@1/pci@0/usb@0,2/device@2/storage@0/disk@0:f

OpenBSD reports in dmesg something that might be related:

uhub0: device problem, disabling port 2

In the ILOM log I can see an old message that might be unrelated:

ERROR: Can't determine disk backplane device type. DVD/CDROM devalias
using PATA device path.

I would appreciate it if someone could help me out in diagnosing the
problem and getting the drive to work.

Thanks,
Irek
