I put RedHat's 5.1 dist onto a SS2 - the install was very smooth and
easy. I booted from floppy and installed from an old Sony CDROM. The
system boots, but when probing the scsi bus for disks, causes a bus
reset for each disk it finds, but then boots normally. I read in the
mailing list archive that this has been seen by others, and can be
regarded as fairly normal, so I'm not too worried about this.
However, I then wanted to install some documentation, so I attempted to
mount the cdrom, but a mount attempt causes a bus reset and a hung
console. I can switch to another console to reboot the system, though.
I can't mail the error messages yet - it's not fully configured for
internet access. Can anyone help in the meantime?
