i have two lx's running redhat-5.2 egcs-1.1.1 as the compiler and have run into two problems. Problem #1: when i try to boot from the 'sun cd plus' the boot fails after almost completing it get to mounting the scsi times out. I have two 'sun cd pluses' they work on my scsi buss x86's. I have three sets of cables and terminaters.I think perhaps the linux cd's are burned in 2 speed and the lx or sparc linux kernel cant handle it. I also cant mount a cdrom from the drive at all with out gross errors and scsi resets time outs etc... Problem #2 Thinking that the scsi vender identification in the 2.1.x kernels would fix the mounting problem at the least i have trying to boot these kernels on the lx's and get to cannot locate UTMP .... esentially it tries to run before mounting the hard drive. any help would be appreciated. aw. - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe sparclinux" in the body of the message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
