I've been searching the Web for information regarding problems with
installing Red Hat Linux on a Weitek-powerUp'ed Sparc and have not seen
or heard of a resolution to this. My problem is during the install, the
system stops at "freeing kernel memory...", or I'll get the hex dump
with the funny ascii smiley. I dropped Red hat a line and this was
their response:

Weitek's should work, but occasionally have problems. This question
is _really_ better suited to the sparclinux mailing list at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] . I doubt if I'll be able to solve this
problem otherwise.

The latest postings are in the tail-end of 1998 and I haven't seen any
new information. Does anyone know the status of this problem?
BTW, I have a 9501 date code.
