Hi all,
I am trying to install Redhat 6.0 on a SS1+ with PROM 2.9 (latest).
I have a bootable CD which fails to install. I am also trying to do the install
over a serial link.
at the 'boot:' prompt I am typing 'linux serial' as the doc says.
I read that there is a serial link bug and to get a new ramdisk image from the
redhat site. I did this and have tried to boot from the floppy, first with the
'boot32.img' disk and then the ramdisk. First time around I get a kernel panic
and it bombed. After that it has booted less and less until now it will not
recognize the floppy drive. It says that the drive is not there, is improperly
configured or broken. I have tried another floppy drive and got the same thing.

I am now resigned to making a new bootable CD as I think that this will solve
all the problems as I can boot and install straight from CD.
My question is how do I make a new CD with the new 'install2' file and new
'ramdisk.img' file (if the ramdisk is needed).
I have looked at the CD I have and there are a number of places that a
'install2' file resides, eg /bin /sbin . Which one do I replace or do I replace
them all?

Or if anyone knows how I can fix my floppy drive that would also be a great help
as I could in future boot of the net and have emergency disks etc.
