I am having difficulties installing Red Hat 6.1 on a Sun 4/50
SparcStation IPX.
It has 32MG of RAM and 2 (well now 2 x 1Gb HD).
It boots from CD fine. I run through the entire installation in all
the installation
options (regular(X), text, expert(X), etc.). All with the same results.
Create disk partitions,
Mount swap space ( it complains about being low on memory)
Configure Network settings and user accounts, etc.
Select packages
It formats file systems and starts to copy files to disk and hangs on
third package file.
ldconfig-1.9.5-16 271K creates a shared library cache
and maintains symlinks for
ld.so
I have looked for this package in the "select individual packages"
section
of the installation and was unable to find this package to try to not
install it.
I have downloaded the iso image from different sites, thinking the
first one was might have been corrupted. The other yielded exactly the
same results.
I am really at a loss. Has anyone seen this or offer any suggestions?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks!
