hi,
i'm using a sparc-linux box via a serial console (i386-*-linux connected with a
minimal null-modem cable (2-3, 3-2, 7-7) and running c-kermit 7.0.197). i've got some
problems:
* i can't interrupt the process with the intr character (^c). but if i run screen, i
can do that (although a bit late). for example, "ls -lR /" on the console is not
interrupted, and under screen it is interrupted (in a few seconds after pressing ^c).
how can i do that on the "plain" console? what is the reason of such behaviour?
* my eot ("eof" in stty notation) character is set to ^a on each login. currently i
fix it from .profile; what is the proper way? i've tried setting it from
/etc/gettydefs without a result.
* i couldn't get getty switching to the next gettydefs entry on break. the man page
says it is supported. btw, what is break? i used to think it is making dtr low for
some time. how is it send on a cable without hardware flow control lines?
any info / pointers would be greatly appreciated.
with best regards,
baurjan.
