WRT the Weitek, it is very hit and miss, in my exp.
many folks have come up with theories, but I thing
success is determined by the platform (IPX vs. SS2),
OB PROM level, and PowerUP Mfg. date...

If it works, you are good - if it was a problem I
think it would be obvious (like unable to install).

Is there a list of date codes for chips that work? From what I've been
reading linux shouldn't run on a weitek powerup with a date code older
than 9501, but it runs fine here on mine with a code of 9344x.
