Distribution of omics data analysis is an interest of mine as well.

I'm not sure what you're looking for here: are you seeking students?  Or 
are you just gathering info about cloud computing?

Two projects I've been involved with that involve distributed processing 
for proteomics: one, Swift, a protein ID system I designed and helped 
develop at Mayo, used grid engine to distribute processing and search 
tasks on a cluster.

In addition, at my current employer, Proteome Software, I'm developing a 
new product for QC of LCMS data; one model involves us hosting it at 
Amazon Web Services.  We're interested to see whether folks are willing 
to buy it that way.
