Hi Narsimha,

Both the commands you wrote will convert all the returns in a LAS file to an SPD file. The -x option specifies the type of return to index by. That is, the pulses are placed into spatial bins according to the location of their FIRST_RETURN or LAST_RETURN, whatever you specify.

Hi,

I would like to convert .las files to _spd_ format. (Discrete > SPD)

I have seen two different examples regarding the conversion of LAS to SPD formats. ( one is with first return and other with last return)

Can you please let me know which one is the correct one that suits my needs? Can I choose ALL returns?

spdtranslate --if LAS --of SPD -b 1 -x FIRST_RETURN

spdtranslate --if LAS --of SPD -b 1 -x LAST_RETURN

Appreciate your feedback.

Regards,
