Can there please *ALSO* be standard fields to report if the license is: * a free license as approved by the Free Software Foundation (FSF) [Proposed field name: “FSF-approved”] * a free license acceptable to Debian main [Proposed field name “Debian-acceptable”] * a "good" license according to Fedora [Proposed field name “Fedora-good”]
This would be in *addition* to the OSI-approved list. This isn’t an idle request. The “Best Practices” badge currently determines if a license is FLOSS if it is OSI approved *OR* if the license is on one of those other three lists. You can see this here: https://github.com/linuxfoundation/cii-best-practices-badge/blob/master/doc/criteria.md#floss_license We also specifically *suggest* that the license be OSI-approved, but don’t mandate it: https://github.com/linuxfoundation/cii-best-practices-badge/blob/master/doc/criteria.md#floss_license_osi --- David A.
