Greetings all.
I just posted on github a prototype of a Maven plugin which will generate SPDX documents at https://github.com/goneall/spdx-maven-plugin. Feel free to take a look at the code and provide any feedback. I just sent an email to the maven developers list asking for feedback on the Maven API usage. Being new to Maven plugin development, I'm sure I did a few things wrong (so expect some changes). You may want to look at the spreadsheet available at https://github.com/goneall/spdx-maven-plugin/blob/master/SPDX-fields-maven-m apping.xlsx This provides a mapping of the SPDX fields to Maven fields. Feedback is appreciated. The motivation for the plugin was the result of a discussion between Phil Odence and myself (from SPDX) and Jim Jagielski and Henri Yandell (from Apache) on ideas for how Apache projects could produce or utilize SPDX. The four of us met shortly after the OMG meeting on SPDX/licensing initiatives. It was suggested that a maven plugin would substantially reduce the effort for several Apache projects. If it is accepted by the Apache community, we may see some Apache projects producing SPDX files.
