Hi all

Providing the license list in multiple formats will help to promote its usage.
JSON became very popular during the last few years. I would say it's the most
popular data exchange format for the web and related programming languages.

So from my perspective: +1

Best!

Subject: Proposal to post .json files for individual listed licenses

Greetings all,

There is a proposal being discussed in a git project issue to create json
format files for individual licenses
(https://github.com/sindresorhus/spdx-license-list/issues/6).

This would satisfy a need to easily extract license text and other fields from
the listed licenses. We currently have that ability with RDFa, but the tools
to support RDFa are not nearly as pervasive as tools that support the JSON
format.

If we implement the proposal, there would be one additional file generated for
each SPDX license in the form of [license-id].json. The internal format would
be JSON (see http://www.json.org/) where the name (or tag) would be the same
tags we use for the RDFa format.

There would be no change to how we maintain the license list (all the changes
are just in the tool, not the process).

If anyone has any questions, suggestions, concerns, or objections, please reply
before next Friday (10/30/2015).

Thanks,
Gary
