The tech team met today and we went through the specification's open issues <https://github.com/spdx/spdx-spec/issues>, and classified the outstanding issues into releases 2.1.1 (now targetted for January), 2.2 (April) for incremental enhancements, and 3.0 (Q4 2018) for those that may need deprecations from current spec and discussion with legal.
The subject of multiple formats (beyond RDFa & tag:value) has come up again in the issues, and there are some interesting options available, and other projects generating multiple formats to look at as well. We're going to use the first meeting of 2018 to discuss options for multiple formats in more detail with the view towards inclusion as part of 2.2.
