Hi Nizar,

We are thinking of saving the data to a file in the repository in some human
readable and machine readable format. JSON sounds like a good choice to me.

I’m not a python expert myself, so I’ll leave the choice of frameworks up to
the email list. There may be some benefit in using Django since it is used by
the SPDX online tools project. Although we are thinking that this would be a
separate application from the SPDX tools, I can see some benefit in using the
SPDX tools as a common UI in the future.

Regards,

Gary

Hello,

I just have an additional question, will we save the data to a database or to a
file (Json for example) in the repository?

Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for your response,

I believe we can implement both, with jinja2 templates we can easily build
static pages and upload them to spdx.org <http://spdx.org> and to Github Pages
(using their API).

Can you think of some problems or concerns we could face and that we should
consider from now?

Nizar.

Hi Nizar,

Welcome to the SPDX mailing list.

We have a weekly tech call every Tuesday 10AM Pacific time (GMT-7), 6PM Morocco
time (GMT+1). If you’re available for next Tuesday’s call, we could discuss on
the call.

Alternatively, we can use Gitter (https://gitter.im/spdx-org/Lobby) or the
email list.

I’ll reply to some of the specific questions raised below.

Gary

Hello everyone,

My name is Nizar, I'm a 2nd year university student from Morocco, I'm
interested in this project "Registry for License List Namespaces", and I would
like to discuss it in more details, mainly technology (I would prefer Python)

[G.O.] Python is fine – it is probably the most popular language used in the
SPDX community. I am more of a Java programmer myself, but you would have a
lot of technical support for Python with other members of the SPDX community.

and explanation of some features, like "When accepted, the namespace is
published to a known website", what know website ?

[G.O.] Right now, I’m thinking we would just use
spdx.github.io/licensenamespace <http://spdx.github.io/licensenamespace> since
it is easy to implement. We could also publish to the spdx.org
<http://spdx.org> website if we generate static pages. A bit more involved,
but possible.

Thank you for your time,

Nizar
