Hello Mr. Dick Brooks and Ms./Mrs. Kate Stewart,

Starting this year, Google has expanded the GSoC program to include
non-students who want to get into FOSS projects, specifically for a future
long-term engagement; and, this is what I'm interested in.

I've been interested in the privacy domain for a long time. SPDX would play a
small but extremely important part in the privacy domain itself with a possible
future extension that gives SPDX the capability for reproducible builds in a
hermetic environment since it is directly backed by the US Government (there
are several awesome FOSS projects such as Guix and Nix that work toward
reproducibility but SPDX might be a unifying factor due to Government backing).

I'm interested in the " SBOM Conformance Checker" project. If you're accepting
non-students please let me know how to proceed before applying. I'm comfortable
with Python and Linux based systems and I'm a quick learner.

Thanks and Regards,
Anup K Parikh.
