Hello Peter, As I understand, these identifiers are the same.
In Annex D.2 “Case sensitivity” of SPDX 3.0, the text is exactly the same as in SPDX 2.2 and 2.3, except for the first paragraph, which is nor relevant here (the difference between SPDX 2 and 3 being that SPDX 3 allows both upper-case and lower-case operators). And in SPDX 2, the identifiers are the same. The Java tools treat them as identical, see comment by Gary in https://github.com/spdx/tools-java/issues/143 But that makes me ask another related question: is licenseref-my-tool-some-identifier valid? I think not, but that should be clarified. Hi everyone, I was just dealing with a corner case in my code concerning LicenseRefs (and the same question also applies to SPDX 3.0 AdditionRefs), and Annex D of the specification [1] didn't clarify it for me (and perhaps could be clarified to do so, once we know the answer). Basically my question boils down to: are LicenseRefs / AdditionRefs that only differ by case identical? For example, are these two LicenseRefs identical or different? 1.
