Hi Spike,
I found a similar thing in 1.01... I couldn't use the view aspect in
designmode because I got errors saying that my client variables did not
exist (I assume this is because it is not within the scope of my
application)... fortunately this hasn't really been required on the site, so
I haven't had to worried too much about it... yet.
I know this isn't very helpfull, but thought it may interest you that this
also happens on 1.01.
