Well, the only reason I can think of involves clusters. When you use any
Verity based
technology with a cluster, you will have to think about how to update the
clusters on
other machines. This is NOT a show stopper, it's just something you have to
think about.
(Ben Elmore had a _cool_ idea about how to handle this. Ben, want to
describe it for the
group? :)

It could just be that they didn't understand metadata. I think it's simple,
but I've been
pretty intimate with it for a while now. :) If I were you, I'd investigate
joining those
multiple types into one and creating a MD hierarchy. You could probably
write a script
that would do a get on all the objects and create new copies under a new,
single type.
This shouldn't take more than a few minutes!
