It's done by Verity Voodoo. Ok, just kidding about that... but seriously,
the score is generated by Verity's engine. It says, 'you looked for FOO, I
found a match here, and the match is X good'. I'm sure it's a combination of
how many times FOO appears and how close FOO is to the beginning of the
document and the position of Venus. Etc etc etc.

It depends on what you mean. I don't think you can tell Verity how to
search, by that I mean, you can't tell Verity "care more about the
occurances of Foo" instead of "the position of Foo."
