No. Look for the directory structure inside the program files and
webroot. If you unzip the file, it will create program files as
subdirectory under the Xapp directory. copy that in the original
program files directory. Also still you will see some templates
does'nt exist error. If you copy that templates in appropriate
places then you are ready to go.

I followed the direction and I got a "Sub directory doesn't exist" error
message after I try to restore the db.
I do not use the same tree structure that is on your helpful guides(my
spectra DIR isn't under "programe files" but a DIR I called allaire). Could
it be the reason why it wont finish the restore?
Thanks.

I've finished the first version of Xapp, the Spectra example application
for developers and it is available for download from the Allaire/Macromedia
site
http://www.allaire.com/handlers/index.cfm?ID=20013
Spectra developers can interact with the examples in Xapp and then view the
source and cut and paste the code for their own use. The cfa_ tags in the
source are linked to the online Allaire Spectra Reference guide so that you
can easily get more information. Xapp provides a framework designed to be
extensible, with new examples added frequently.
If you have suggestions for examples that you would like to see, please
email me.
Thanks.
