Hi Bradley

The advanced security (siteminder) that is part of spectra (well really cf
enterprise) is just one of spectra's many components. If you do not feel
that it suits your needs my suggestion is that you forego that bit. You can
still use CFLDAP to connect to your NDS and do all your authentication. Not
all components of spectra are suitable for all applications. In a previous
project we used the full blown version of siteminder with spectra as we
deemed that to be more stable. If you plan to use the webtop application
with spectra it will need a few changes to work without the use of advanced
security based tags.

hope this helps

Subject: Spectra 1.5 and Novell NDS

We are evaluating Spectra to deliver our Intranet and corporate sites, and
are
also looking at Novell NDS for our wider authentication issues.

Does anyone have any experience with this combination. I have been following
the
Siteminder problems with trepidation, it is enough to make me reconsider the
viability of Spectra. I also have seen mention of a non-siteminder release,
does anyone have further info/real life (beta) experience?

We are primarily an NT based organistation although we do have several Unix
boxes and our Student system is Oracle based (on Solaris).

OFFTOPIC: I am interested in talking to anyone who runs dual university
sites
is this way, and what your feedback has been from users.

Thanks
Bradley Harris
