We have:
Allaire Spectra 1.5 for Solaris
ColdFusion Enterprise server 4.5.1 SP2 for Solaris
(All hotfixes up to 6th April 2001 have been installed,
including 'duplicate' fix)
Oracle 8i database (version 8.1.6)
Sun Sparc box running solaris 7 with all recommended patches.
HISTORY:
Spectra is a fresh install, finished last Thursday.
The default cfaobject database has not been upsized. The
application CODB was planned to be migrated in from a db used
on a backup NT server.
While trying to create the first application, the migrate
function gave an error and stopped half way through. The
error had not only caused the new destination to be unusable
(as expected), but the source Content Object Datastore was
also erased.
The database was left in this empty state, while
reconstruction was done on the backup NT server.
The database used for the application was moved to a new copy
of itself on the Oracle server and CF admin repointed to it.
THE CURRENT PROBLEM:
Upon login to Spectra, you are asked for a username and
password. After entering these, you see the screen with the
Spectra splash screen and the words 'Establishing data
connections and loading system objects' and after only a
second or two the browser logo that animates to show that
loading is underway has stopped. The screen can be left like
this for hours and nothing further happens.
There are many entries in the CF error log file like this:

We have tried replacing, removing and renaming the
datasources used by Spectra.
Spectra seems to be completely unusable.
Are we looking down the barrel of a re-install?
