The plan is that Macromedia is going to take Spectra components and build something better. The people who have purchased Spectra now with the subscribtion will have to pay for this product as well, if they wish to get it. Mean while Spectra as we know it will only be supported by the communitie. Which sounds alot like open source to me. So any customer who wishes to purchase Spectra now would spend the money and then have to purchase the Macromedia improved version or rely on the communitie for support.
