Jeffrey,
When you say the "installation completed successfully", do you mean that you
installed Spectra 1.5 and then ran through the configuration wizard for 1.5
???
The end of the config wizard should update the coldfusion registry key
(hkeylocalmachine/software/allaire/spectra/currentversion/runConfig) from 1
to 0 - check this value.
BUT if you didn't go through the config wizard and run the upgrade on
cfaobjects - you need to. The install does not update the CODB's for you.

Subject: 1.5 upgrade issue
I have just upgraded from Spectra v1.01 to v1.5. The installation
completed successfully. However, when I try to log into the webtop, it
throws me back into the Configuration Wizard. I cannot launch the webtop.
It seems like the webtop application does not think that the upgrade was
performed. I applied all of the hot fixes that I could find.
When I comment out this section of code from allaire/spectra/index.cfm,
<!--- INSTALL / UPGRADE Scripts--->
<!--- Check if this is a new install or upgrade and if so, load the
Config Wizard --->
<cfif server.cfa.information.runConfig>
<cflocation url="/allaire/spectra/install/index.cfm">
<cfabort>
</cfif>
I make it to the login page. I type in my username and password and then I
see the splash screen with the message
"Establishing data connections and loading system objects..." along with the
spinning wheel. I never get any further. When I comment out the splash
screen,
I see the message "The Allaire Spectra Configuration Wizard application can
only be installed from the specified IP addresses!"
I know that it is not an authentication problem because I can run our custom
application that uses the same Spectra authentication and it works fine.
If anyone has an idea of what is wrong, I would appreciate some help. The
Macromedia Installation Support refuses to help me even though by their own
definition "Unable to start the webtop" qualifies for assistance.
Thanks,
Jeffrey White
