I just want to let you all know that we have a release candidate (RC)
available for the Macromedia Spectra 1.5.1 maintenance release.
The headline is that we've worked on performance, and fixed a lot of bugs.
Here are the major areas that have been improved:
1) Site Layout Model & Security
2) Webtop & Security
3) Database Updates/Upgrades can now be done from 1.0 as well as
1.0.1 & 1.5
4) Cleaned up junk db content causing SLM corruption
5) Fixed several searching bugs
6) The performance of several COAPI functions has been greatly
enhanced:
a) The object finder and cfa_contentObjectFind tag are now
much faster.
b) The object finder loading time for several thousand
objects is only a few seconds.
c) Paging through the object set only takes a few seconds
per page.
d) The cfa_contentObjectGet and cfa_contentObjectGetMultiple
tags are much faster. Use the attribute resultset=short to retrieve objects
without property data.
e) The cfa_contentObjectGetMultiple tag now incorporates
property searching and sorting by property.
7) Enhanced the performance of UserProfile while maintaining source
code backward compatibility. The UserProfile no longer uses embedded
objects as they can cause performance degradation.
