If this were a one time thing you could simple contentobjectcreate and use
the specific ID. That may work.

If I'm reading you right, it sounds like the only issue is that you have
code w/ specific IDs and those IDs are dead. This happened because a hot fix
wasn't applied (I don't mean to make that sound like it's your fault). You
may just want to make the new containers and copy over the IDs. You would
only have to do it once.
