We have a Solaris box here running Spectra 1.5 and Iplanet.
It does not do anything else but this.
The Oracle database and the LDAP server it uses comes from other machines.
The solaris box is as follows: SUn Ultra10, 1x333Mhz cpu, 256MB RAM
It runs like a dog with only 2 developers on it.
It appears that the bottlenecks may be memory based, with some resultant
spillover into IO.
We have extra ram due to be delivered any day now.
I'll try to remember to post as to whether this makes any difference or not.
We have a new box on order that has something like 4x500Mhz processors and a
Gig of RAM and I'm hoping that this will cope with the user load that we end
up getting.
