Subject: RE: Automatic Back up of CODB in Spectra
I once did write a simple "content migration" app for someone that allowed
staging of content objects (and all other kinds of spectra entities) between
servers, which, in principal, could be used for back-ups as the intermediate
medium was a "mother-of-all wddx packets". This differed from the migration
tool in the webtop, as it provided a "search and select" option so that any
entities modified in a certain date range were selected etc... but this may
be going over board...
Depending on how you want to store them, you could always use the packager
tags for types and plps, and the rest could be simply dumped using cfwddx.
You'd have to think of a naming convention to manage them (i.e. date
considerations and the like)...
Regards,
Pete

I would like to back up the content CODB to obtain the objectstypes, types,
plp and propertydef in wddx format as if I had used the webtop to do it.

Vanessa,
Do you want to back up the "content" CODB, or the source code? Your DBMS
should have a backup scheduler.

Pete

Subject: Automatic Back up of CODB in Spectra
Hye,
I am working on backup of my project with Spectra and I wonder if it is
possible to schedule Spectra to launch a automatic back up of the CODB?
I tried to group and copy the system files used via the webtop for the back
up but there seems to be more then that to do and when I launch the file it
failed (I had to reinstall Spectra...)
Many thanks
