Hello All:
Got 1.5.1 today and blew up the first installation. Seems that bec.
I migrated cfaobj, cfaapplic., and cfaversion DB's to ASE (as per the
instructions of 'administering Spectra' the configuration
wizard just hung up. I think the reason is that altho i edited odbc.ini and
mod'd ODBC in CFadmin, there were latent references to the old ones in the
registry.
So i cleaned everything up, deleted the CF CODB's on ASE, reinstalled
1.5.1 and at least was able to update MOST ASE application CODB's. Troubling
though is that I only selected one DB (Xapp) and noticed that the wizard ran
through all the available DB's.
And on Xapp update it produced 1 error:

Allaire Spectra Updates Did Not Succeed
There was a problem applying updates to the following datasources:
- Xapp
This is often a result of incompatability between the data source versions. The
configuration wizard
has generated a log file of the update steps at
/opt/netscape/server4/web/allaire/spectra/install/updatedatastore.log. Please
review this log for errors, restore your backup of the
datasource(s) and retry the migration.
- Confirm that the data sources listed above are pointing at a valid object
database.
- Confirm that the correct version of Allaire Spectra was used to create the
data sources listed above.

Continuing on I got this (more serious) error:
http://localhost/allaire/spectra/install/index.cfm?step=4&substep=1&execute=1&requesttimeout=600
Configuration Wizard
Testing Final Configuration
Security Configuration Error
The Spectra configuration wizard has detected a problem with the ColdFusion Advanced
Security config
uration. Spectra cannot create a
security context, userdirectory, user or policy. The configuration wizard has
verified that advanced security is installed and enabled, so this is
most likely a configuration problem. Please review the following knowledge base
articles for assistance:
- Common Allaire Spectra Installation Issues
- Search the Allaire Installation knowledge base
The error message returned is:
SECURITY ()
Security Policy Administration
Security Policy action failed unexpecedly
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
CF Advanced Security presently authenticates as per the example:
http://db1.l9.com/CFIDE/authenticate.cfm
authenticated:YES
But CFadmin is not flagged to "use ColdFusion Administration Authentication "
and the userdirectory is TestSc and not UserDirectory
Could this make a difference?
I have these SC's
testsc just a security context test
sc1 Allaire Spectra Security Context
and these UD's
testUD test user directory
UserDirectory Allaire Spectra User Directory
Any help would be appreciated.
TIA
Rion
