hi,
I have recently come across Spectra as a content management tool for
managing websites. I downloaded the trail version and read through the
documentation on Administering Spectra .I need to convert a education site
that has only static pages and put in place a content management solution
so that non-technical users can change the content in the future when
required. The content changes once or twice a year when course curriculum
changes. For this I need to create users and groups and ensure section level
security for each of the groups. Like for example if i have 3 sections like
Admissions , Research and Academic programs.Lets consider the admission
section.. I need to have one group called Admissionsgrp and 2 users under
that grp. admissions owner and admissions author and i need to give the
permissions (only for these users under this group) to create and edit
webpages under this section. The owner of the group shld have permissions
to view the pages and the author shld have permissions to edit or delete
the page. I followed the documentation and tried this by creating the users
admisssionsauthor and admissionsowner and associating them with the
admissionsgroup and then went to the site security section of allaire
spectra and gave permissons to the group for the pages under admission
section, same way i did for the other sections too .. then if i logon as
admissionowner i shld. not have permission to create pages in academics
right?? but i am able to create .. I dont know how to go about with this.
Can anyone tell me help me do this
And one more issue is can i give a content object level
security (under the same content type) for the different sections while
creating the content for the site, so that the admins and bdm's of the
different sections will have acess only to the content posted by them under
the same content type.
Thanks in advance
joshila
