Previously in this list, I've asked just what is meant by the COAPI being included in
the next version of the ColdFusion server. Macromedia's answered that for us, I
think. But I've not heard much comment on the document below on this list.

I'm encouraged the COAPI will be available to all CF developers. But I'm discouraged
that so many elements of what was Spectra will no longer be carried in a "current"
product. Community source or no, MM's developers won't be working on a Spectra 2.0.
That said, is there any reason Spectra-like functions could (and would) be recreated
as custom tags (given freely and otherwise) under CF6.0? I'm a fan of the site layout
model, for example. Given the COAPI, I can see how I could recreate that
functionality.
