You can also use things like
REFind("^[[:xdigit:]]{8}-[[:xdigit:]]{4}-[[:xdigit:]]{4}-[[:xdigit:]]{16}$",
I don't know if it's faster than cfparam. At least this allows one to
create a user-defined function. In fact, isn't there a IsUUID() in CF5?
I don't have access to a cf5 box so I can't check.
