Here's what you haven't figured out yet - unless your goal is to sell
Spectra to unsuspecting developers, WebTop is useless. Does it appear to be
a solid and useful user interface? Yes. Does it give you a sense of
wonderment at the possibilities when you see it for the first time? Yes!
Does it fall to pieces when you begin to apply it to some task other than
using it as a pretty interface to display during your Spectra sales
presentation, for example, deploying a feature rich website and content
management solution? Yes!

My suggestion: if you're into Spectra for the long term (which will be 1.75
years whether you want it to end or not), start now to remove yourself from
the WebTop and all its disappointments.

Ask Macromedia: After the sale is complete, they'll let you down gently by
telling you that the WebTop is really just an example of how Spectra can be
used and not the actual application interface you thought it was. Then
they'll suggest that you use it as a guide for building your own functional
interface. You've got time for that, right?

Thank you for the opportunity to disillusion you.
