An idea I used on my project http://www.bhpsteel.com was to add a "search
result" method to each content type. When verity retrieves a list of object
id's, remove the duplicates and call cfa_contentobject with the list -
voila - search results. Nice thing is that you can customise the
information shown and link for each content type. It means that the method
is aware of the site structure which reduces the type portability somewhat,
but at least it's confined to a single method.
