I have a problem with my Spectra install.

1/ When we try to install CF5 on our Solaris box, with advanced security
turned on, it seems to install ok, but when you start the box back up again
the following message appears:

# /opt/coldfusion/bin/stop

The processes are killed and coldfusion is started.

Running /opt/coldfusion/siteminder/bin/smconsole successfully tests
connection to the ldap server.

------------------------------------------------------------

2/ After successfully testing the ldap connection, proceed with spectra
installation

After installation finishes, while running the webtop wizard, all proceeds
perfectly until step 4 "Create Administration Account". Keying in a userid
of admin and a password, the creation fails with the browser displaying the
following mesasge box:

     Configuration Wizard

     Account Creation Unsuccessful
The configuration wizard did not successfully create the administrator
account.

     The following information was returned:

     CFLDAP

The error occurred while processing an element with a general
identifyer of (CFLDAP), occupying document position (205:5) to (213:32).

Retrying the step does not work, neither does stopping/starting services or
rebooting the server.

We are using Netscape LDAP 4.12, as we were told to do, and as the
documentation and requirements on the Spectra box say to do.

Here's the strange bit.
I saw a post here recently with someone having the same problem with Spectra
Account creation, and it was suggested to try LDAP 4.13 instead of LDAP
4.12. Apparently everything after 4.12 is no longer included in the
licensing we have. We couldn't immediately find a eval copy of 4.13, so we
skipped straight to LDAP 5.
Once we'd installed Netscape Ldap 5, the CF5 bootup problem and the Spectra
account creation problems all went away!

So don't use LDAP 4.12, I hear you say! The problem is that we only have an
evaluation version of LDAP 5 and there are fairly hefty licensing fees for
it. According to the Spectra docs we shouldn't need to be doing this, so I'm
very reluctant to fork out this money if its just a config problem.

Can I assume that the problem is all with LDAP? If so, then why does the
Spectra box say to use 4.12?

My question is: Is ANYONE AT ALL using Spectra on a Solaris box using CF5
and LDAP 4.12?
Has ANYONE got any thoughts or suggestions to help us get it all to work
with LDAP 4.12?
