Russell,

We just deployed a large scale site that serves 3.5 million page views a
month and under that type of load, we were experiencing a lot of errors and
the site coming down. Since we installed the patch, everything has been
running smoothly. We have not experienced any degradation in perfomance.
We are running Spectra 1.5.1 on CF 5.0 on Windows NT. I would definitely
install it -- especially if you expect to have high traffic.

Hope that helps.

Subject: Fishing for comments

Hi all,
Just fishing for some comments here: has anyone installed the big Spectra
Mod form spectrasource.macromedia.com ?

If so : did it make things better ?
                in what way ?

Just installed it and so far all I can see is degraded performance, (slower
responses, timimg out in waiting for locks), but the massive memory
slurpidge seems to have slowed (although I do have loads of tweaking and
load testing to do before we decide).

We run Spectra 1.5.1 on cf 4.5sp2 on solaris.

Also I did a diff on a bunch of files and the main change is to the locking
(named to scoped), is there more to it than this ?

Thanks in advance for any comments.
