Hi, We usually restrict IP to localhost so no users can get to the server for starts. There is a known (but not sure published) that if you get more than one request to CF for a page while the SLM is loading, it will cause a memory leak.
For your problem, we always request a page in IE and use ?requesttimeout=55555555 or any large numbrer. This prevents the timeout you see. This will cause the SLM to fully load and display the page- thats when you know it is loaded properly in cache. This has always been a pain if you have a large SLM as we do but this work around is reliable. Lanny Udey Hofstra University >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] Monday, February 18, 2002 >>> Hello all, We've got a fairly large spectra app running on a nt2000 server, dual processor (866mhz) and 1Gb memory. We now experience problem after cf reboots or the slm cache timeout is expiring. There are 350 pages, 0 sections and around 6600 containers. When the cache expires of cf reboots spectra is trying to load the slm in memory. This process is taking 3-5! minutes, this is too long. Users experience timeouts because the default thread timeout is set to 180, due to this setting the slm will never load in memory. What do we have to do to prevent these errors since we expect to grow the site much larger. Has anybody experienced this behaviour/problems before.
