We have a client here with a setup where all the files Spectra and otherwise are stored on a file server and not the servers that users actually hit. IIS will be setup to get the files from that machine when a user comes to one of the other servers. We've installed Spectra from the other boxes onto the file server using UNC paths, you know \\servername\drive\program files\allaire\spectra. This way we can get all the settings on each box, such as registry settings, etc., while still having the files only on the file server.
Everything seems to be working and the webtop comes up but when we log in an error is thrown with the cfa_FileCompare tag saying it cannot find a file. I was just wondering if anyone has done this before, installed Spectra over a UNC path? Is it workable at all or is it only possible via a mapped drive? Are there any things we need to watch out for, any files we need to change, etc? Any help would be appreciated.
