I just did this. We were rolling out a new box at the same time so I just:
1) installed a clean copy of 1.51 on the new server 2) ran the spectrasource upgrade 3) used the webtop datasource/application upgrade tool 4) recreated my Verity collections (found a bug here) Everything went smoothly except for #4, for which I've submitted a bug report. In the past I had experimented with migrating to 1.50 and it did not go well. If possible I would uninstall 1.01, install a fresh 1.51 and THEN do your migration.
