Install 1.01 directly. There should be no need to install 1.0 and update to
1.01.

If you have only used advanced security for authentication or you used only
a little authentication, so your policies/rules are easily recreated:
1) Install CF5.
2) Use the securitywizard to create a new policystore - do not bother to
migrate your 4.51 policystore.
3) The user directory structure has not change so your 4.51 user directories
can be used in CF5.
4) Do NOT use MS Access for your user directory or policy store. No, not
even in development. Just don't.
Use ldap, MS SQL, Oracle, etc.

If you must migrate your policystores forward - make sure to see the
Technotes at Macromedia first. You must install the hotfixes before
migrating.

Subject: instaling 1.01 on 5.0

I was tasked with migrating our spectra boxes from CF4.5 to 5.0 however I
also have to create new boxes as well (2). I tried to create a box that had
CF 5.0 and install spectra 1.0 then update it to 1.01 but I had tons of
issues (adv. security) and I ended up going back to 4.51 and installing
spectra then upgrading to CF 5.0. Is their a better way to do this I really
would like to find a much more simple way of doing this.

Servers look like this:
