Ernie,
The question becomes were you using siteminder for just authentication or did you 
authorize.  If you only are validating user/pwds and not setting permissions you 
should be able to recreate your security context 'sc1'.  Then add the your 
userdirectory back into sc1.  Then advanced security should be running after you 
bounce CF/SM.

You should be able to login to Spectra, the webtop and your application.  If you were 
setting webtop permissions and/or authorizing in your application you will need to 
recreate those webtop permissions/rules and polices.

Subject: over worte smpolicy during new install


I had a guy here at work do a new install of spectra 1.01 on cf5 and during
the install he over wrote the smpolicy database on the sql server, the
userdirectory is intact (well at least all the users are their). How can I
fix this none of the users can login, has anyone run in to this before?
Please help!
