Hi all,

sorry for the unclear posting.
thanks for the answers.

Let me try to explain my intention once again.

We like to use a container-like control in our application (designmode) with most of
the original container editor funcionality like adding, removing and creating
contentobjects and the publishing rules as well.
The problem is that we have to change the design, the supported languages and some of
the used methods within the container editor.

Our application will support multiple clients who should only see their own content
objects (every content object type has a 'client_id'-property) while editing the
containers content. Unlikely the client objects are not create by the client at the
first setup (first the clients website is made by our web agency) so that we can not
use the 'created by' to restrict the content object list in the container editor
provided by the webtop.

This works fine in our own frontend software but to provide a smart and comfortable
editting for the clients, they should use the designmode and the container editor.

The idea was to create an own container editor or to modify the container methods so
that only objects with the clients client_id-property are listed.

Dave, it sounds that your custom tags will handle this.
Would be great to receive these. Have you thought about MX, will they work?

Thanks a lot,
Thomas

Hi Thomas.

It is not clear what you want to do. I have a set of custom tags that write
and delete to and from specific containers in version 1.5.1. The custom tags
invoke container methods. I call the custom tags from within other object
handlers. That way the customer creates their own publishing rules without
having to write any code. I store the publishing rule parameters in a
special object type I created. I have a little Admin interface to control
this functionality so that no one needs to use the WebTop.

I would share these custom tags with the Spectra community but I'd have to
get approval first. I almost got this functionality into the next version of
Spectra until MM decided to stop new features. Hey MM - is there any chance
you would include new features if we provide you with the code?

Back to Thomas, think about what you want to do in terms of object Types and
publishing rules rather than container methods. To everyone, let me know if
you want me to share these custom tags.

Cheers,

Dave Crosby.
