PaperThin looks like a good alternative, though honestly at this point we're looking very seriously to just rolling our own. No single CMS offers us what we need out of the box (internationalization, localization, personalization, solid workflow, performance, Unicode support, the list goes on and on), and the development time it would take us to mod any existing solution to have what we need would be nearly the same as it would be if we took our Spectra experience (and headaches) and just built our own.
