I'm pleased to see you are having a go.
You need to turn on the stack trace to work out where the query is.
Most likely, there will be a parameter missing somewhere that passes a data
source to a lower level tag. In other words you may have entered data
sources to all the spectra tags you used but at some point a parameter was
not passed to the lower level tag.

For example if you are referring to a data source for your application but
the tag/page you are calling is looking at the WebTop data source you could
run into problems. Check that all your variables are using the right scope.

Also you can get into trouble if you don't use good variable locking
practices - although that doesn't sound like your problem in this case.

These examples just illustrate that you need to locate the code before the
cause will become apparent.
